5 Things I'm Loving: 10/15/12 - 10/21/12

 1) Friday night out! My best friend Carley, Aaron, Carley's friends Lauren and Pauline, and I went to the Goretorium to check out the cannibals. It was so fun! I won't ruin anything, but I recommend going at least once. Since it will be open all year around, you won't miss it. Plus, they'll be changing it up every now and again, so it won't get stale! Later that night, we all walked around the strip a bit and eventually went to Kahunaville bar in TI. If you ever go there, I suggest drinking a mixed drink called "Vacation". It's peach schnapps, Malibu rum, and one other liquor (I don't recall which) mixed with cranberry juice and pineapple juice. It tastes really good and you can barely taste the alcohol! Which is a good and bad thing, as it could sneak up on you if you drink too many. Drink responsibly and know your limits! Anyways, it was a great night and I'm glad I was able to see my best friend while she was in town.

 2) Crocheting my butt off! I've been trying to finish my teal beret all week during work, but I'm only about half way done. I'm hoping to finish it by the end of the month, so I'm going to start crocheting on my days off as well. Wish me luck, as I need it for my school admissions portfolio!

5 Things I'm Loving: 10/1/12 - 10/14/12

 1) Drawing practice! I've been doing a lot of it for the past two weeks. Lots of school drawing, style practice, and even a few tattoos ideas for when I can get tattoo money again. I'm quite proud of them!

 2) Cooking! I'm finally getting back into cooking. It's been a long time since I've actually gone into it. In fact, I've made three new meals just this week! Which means I have some backlog for my "What's Cookin'?" posts. Yay!

5 Things I'm Loving: 9/24/12 - 9/30/12

1) My meeting with the school admissions director! The meeting was on Thursday, and was about showing her what I already have done for my portfolio. It was a success! More details in this post that I wrote about it. :)

2) Spending time with my mom. Thursday was also when I got to hang out with my mom for a bit! We caught up on what each other has been doing, went to my meeting, got some CiCi's pizza, and watched a couple of shows on Netflix. Such a fun day!

5 Things I'm Loving: 9/3/12 - 9/9/12

 1) IHOP with Aaron and Kaymon. Last Monday, the three of us went to breakfast kind of last minute. We caught up on what each of us was doing and cracked lots of jokes. That was probably the most fun I've had during breakfast in a while. I even snuck this picture of Kaymon that reminds me of a certain most interesting man in the world. Stay caffeinated, my friends. lol

 2) Back on track at the gym! After a week and a half of being extra lazy, I finally started going back to the gym. And good thing too, because my goal deadline is a month and a half away! I'm starting to use the elliptical instead of the treadmill, and all ready feel some improvements. The treadmill is good for cardio, but ellipticals are good for cardio as well as working the legs, hips, arms, chest, and shoulders. Much better, in my opinion!

5 Things I'm Loving: 8/27/12 - 9/2/12

1) Back to the gym! After a week and a half of laziness, I went back to the gym last week. Granted it was only once, it's still a step in the right direction! Now I just need to start going 3 days a week again and I'll get into shape in no time!

2) Making plans for November. Aaron and I are planning to go to Anime Vegas, a yearly anime convention, in November! To prepare, he and I put our time off requests in at work two months in advance. All we need to do is find people to cover us and buy our tickets in advance and we're set! I'm so excited!

5 Things I'm Loving: 8/20/12 - 8/26/12

1) Finished the drawing from last week! I finished it about 6 days ago, now I just need to send it to the requester. I like it, personally. How about you? See it on deviantART for more info on the drawing (maturity filter is set on dA).

2) Started crocheting a teal beret. Since I finished the white scarf for Aaron, I decided to finally start crocheting my beret before it starts getting cold. Let's hope I finish it soon!

5 Things I'm Loving: 8/13/12 - 8/19/12

 1) Early morning workouts. Lately, it's been easier for me to go to the gym at 5am then to go when I wake up (at 7 or 8pm). I'm home alone during most of my weekend, so I don't like to walk by myself at night. At least during 5am, people are asleep and the sun is slowly starting to rise. I'm pretty sure I heard that it's not good to work out during your "evening", but I think it's good to expel the extra calories before falling asleep. I'm even starting to see some progress! It'll be a long time before I reach my goal though.

 2) Drawing request! An acquaintance of mine from Suicide Girls asked me to draw a picture of her. This is one of my first real requests, so I gladly accepted! I want the practice anyways. I picked one of her modeling photos as a reference and am now half way through it. I can't wait to finish it and send it to her!

5 Things I'm Loving: 8/6/12 - 8/12/12

 1) Got a call from IADT! On Tuesday (8/7), I got a call from the lady I've been working with to get into school for a long time now. She told me that I have 3 chances to get into school this next year and to do so, I need to put together a portfolio of all of my work and a letter for the admissions board to look over. She emailed all the details to me and told me to call her this week. And with a few new opportunities at getting transportation, I think it's finally my time to start school! I've been so excited, I made up a rough draft for my letter and now need to draw some new pieces to add to my portfolio. Fashion Design program, here I come!

 2) Finished my drawing! Last Wednesday, I finally finished the piece that you all glimpsed at, last week. I'm actually quite proud of it, I'm thinking of hanging it up! What do you think?

5 Things I'm Loving: 7/30/12 - 8/5/12

 1) After nearly an entire month, my tattoo has fully healed. It looks so good, no faded or missing spots at all! And since it has fully healed, I can now go...

 2) Back to drawing! Yes, I can draw again now that I don't have to fear infection! And oh boy have I had a good start. In fact, I'm almost done with one of my projects!

5 Things I'm Loving: 7/23/12 - 7/29/12

 1) Half-way done making Aaron's scarf! I've made so much progress on this scarf since I started over. It might have to do with not being able to draw while my arm heals, but I don't mind. I can't wait to get it done. At this rate, I'll be finished by the end of August!

 2) Tropico 4. Since Aaron bought this for me at the end of the Steam Summer Sale, I haven't been able to stop playing. I was lucky enough to post at all last week with how much I've played! It's fun being a Caribbean overlord.

5 Things I'm Loving: 7/16/12 - 7/22/12

 1) Hello Kitty tattoo mod! On Tuesday night, one of my clients asked me if I could draw tattoos on a Hello Kitty stuffy that he won at the arcade over the weekend. He had already "stretched" HK's ears, so I figured, "Why not?" Ladies and gentlemen, this is the product of that night.

 2) Girl date with Jaxy! On Wednesday, I spent the day with Jaxy, celebrating her belated birthday. We ate, shopped a lot, ate some more, and drank a bit. It was an awesome day! I went into more detail in this post.

5 Things I'm Loving: 7/9/12 - 7/15/12

 1) Fun day with Aaron and Kaymon! On Wednesday, Kaymon hung out with Aaron and I during my tattoo day. We started with going to Game World, a local video game / card and board game store that has tons of old and new games. I didn't intend to, but ended up buying a couple of PS2 games while Kaymon discussed black super heroes with one of the employees. Since they didn't want to wait for my tattoo to get done, they went to an antique store nearby. Afterwards, we got Subway and ate at home. Unfortunately I got tired and fell asleep early, but the guys spent the last few hours playing video games and other manly things. It was a fun day!  2) New tattoo! I got my tattoo from Willy Cutlip at Bad Apple Tattoo Co. on Wednesday. I wrote a post about it with the full picture here!

5 Things I'm Loving: 7/2/12 - 7/8/12

 1) Quiet time at home with Aaron on Independence Day. For the 4th of July, Aaron and I had plans to hang out with some friends and celebrate! Unfortunately, our friends had to cancel and I ended up falling asleep for a while, so we spent the holiday watching TV together. Not a traditional way to spend Independence Day (I really wanted to see fireworks!), but it was still nice to spend time with my boyfriend. :)


 2) I've started crocheting again! After a 5 month hiatus, I've finally started crocheting again. I mainly do it at work, because it keeps me busy (and helps me avoid getting sleepy). Now I'm hoping that if I keep it up, I can finish the scarf I started for Aaron before it gets cold again!

5 Things I'm Loving: 6/25/12 - 7/1/12

 1) Date with Aaron! On Wednesday night, Aaron took me to a ramen house across town called Anime Ramen & Teriyaki. This has to be the coolest ramen house I've ever seen! The atmosphere is very upbeat, they play anime on the TVs and anime theme songs for music, and the waitresses all cosplay as different characters from anime and video games. Our waitress was cosplaying as Kairi from Kingdom Hearts, so cute! The food is awesome too, we got Takoyaki as an appetizer, then I got thai iced tea boba and seafood ramen. So delicious! I highly suggest looking Anime Ramen & Teriyaki up if you're in town. Anyways, the date night ended with Aaron and I watching Hulu. Best date night we've had in a while and Aaron wants to go back there for another date in a couple of weeks!

 2) Started growing Basil. On Thursday morning, while I was grocery shopping at Fresh & Easy, I was looking for packaged "fresh" Basil for one of my dinners I'm planning. It turns out that they don't sell that, but instead they sell Basil that you grow yourself in a tiny pot! After thinking about it a little ( and about my previous track record with growing plants), I decided to buy some anyways and try to keep it alive a little better. Luckily for me, you water Basil only once a day and give it sunlight, so it's pretty low maintenance. I'm good at the watering part, but I need to move it to a better lit area! It's currently on my kitchen counter, next to a window that Aaron keeps closing the blinds to (because the light shines into our room when we sleep).

5 Things I'm Loving: 6/18/12 - 6/24/12

 1) I dyed my hair white again! On Monday, I dyed my hair by myself for the first time. Well, Aaron helped me with looking for missed spots after. lol It's so hard when you can't see the back of your head! Though after all the struggle, it turned out really good! I missed looking like one of Sephiroth's clones. This will be the last month it's white for a while though, because I'll be dying my hair back to my natural color to let it grow out again, by the end of July. I don't mind though, I'll have healthier hair again! For a tutorial on how to get white hair the healthy way, click here!

 2) Got my TB test over with! On Wednesday morning, Aaron and I had to stop at the Diagnostics center to renew our yearly TB skin tests, for work. The first time we ever had to do it, it was a 3-step process that involved getting 2 shots within a week. They've changed it since then, so we only had to go in once to get a little blood drawn from us. Yay! I absolutely hate syringes, so I was happy to get it over with. We were in and out in an hour, which was great considering how many people were there.

5 Things I'm Loving: 6/11/12 - 6/17/12

 1) Home shopping at Target! I've already posted about this in the last Home Decor post, but on Thursday morning Aaron and I got a few home things from Target! We bought kitchen canisters, a tea kettle, a pair of lamps, and a photo frame. I have a long list of other things to still buy though!

 2) New nail polish, finally. Thursday morning, we also stopped by Sally Beauty Supply on the way home from Target. Aaron bought some red hair dye, but forgot to buy the lightener as well so the red was barely noticeable. We'll have to redo it. I bought two new nail colors to add to my collection, and thank goodness too because I was running out of ideas with the few I have! Both are China Glaze, "For Audrey" blue and "Tree Hugger" green. Aren't they cute?

5 Things I'm Loving: 6/4/12 - 6/10/12

 1) E3!!! E3 was going on from June 4th - 6th, and I couldn't have been happier. Although it started off on a bad note (I'm extremely disappointed in Microsoft), the rest of what I saw wasn't bad at all. Can anybody say WiiU, or Ubisoft in general? I'm extremely excited for those as well as Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and the new Tomb Raider. I still need to watch Sony, but I've heard good things about it.

 2) My new phone skins. On Tuesday, my phone skins from gelaskins.com came in the mail. Quicker than I thought! All four are so pretty, I'm extremely satisfied. I'm using the panda skin now, but can't wait to try the others!

5 Things I'm Loving: 5/28/12 - 6/3/12

 1) Another girl day with Jaxy! On Wednesday, Jaxy and I spent the day shopping around Miracle Mile and the Forum Shops. We looked around Agent Provocateur to look at the pretty lingerie that we'll never afford and talk to the cool employees, Victoria's Secret (who can refuse?), The Bettie Page store (one of my favorites!), Anthropologie, and a few other fancy stores. We went to the huge H&M for the first time to gawk at the decorations and try on cute, floral bras, and Jaxy danced on me while an old man happened to watch. lol For our lunch break, we went to the Cheesecake Factory (my 1st time) for Mojitos, the lunch specials, and cheesecake. So worth the $67! After lunch, we walked back to Miracle Mile and went to the regular H&M, where I got an owl tank top & a few pairs of cute earrings. Such a fun day!

 2) The start of mine and Jaxy's 365 Photo Project! June 1st was the first day of our 365 photo project. Our guidelines are basically just to either take one photo or mash up the day's highlight photos into one and post them on Instagram under the hashtag "#365". The photos can be of anything we want. Then at the end of each month, we plan on printing our month's photos and putting them in a book. Sounds like fun, right?

5 Things I'm Loving: 5/21/12 - 5/27/12

 1) I set my appointment for my next tattoo! On Wednesday, I stopped over at Bad Apple Tattoo Co. to see Willy Cutlip, the artist that did my first tattoo. After showing him what I wanted, we set the appointment for July 11th. It seems so far away, but I can wait it out a little longer. I can't wait to get it and show you guys!


 2) Having those "stop and smell the roses" kind of moments. I've been spending a lot of my "day-off mornings" sitting on my balcony with a warm cup of tea as the sun rises. At that time, everything's quiet except for the birds, and the temperature is perfect. The sunsets are prettier though, since I face the west. It might be a little noisier then, but still nice. Those moments have been some of my favorite, lately.

5 Things I'm Loving: 5/14/12 - 5/20/12

 1) Getting settled into our new home! We've been spending the past week unpacking and rearranging things. It's really starting to look like a home and I love it!


 2) My nails this week. I painted something other than polka dots or stripes on my nails for the first time and they turned out pretty good!
