I'm back!

Finally after nearly two months, I'm coming back to my beloved blog! It's been way too long, so let me catch you up on what I've been up to.

I finished my school admissions portfolio and got accepted into school! I will officially be an IADT fashion design student starting at my orientation, on January 3rd. I'm so excited! I had to change my work schedule around to fit my school schedule, but it's worth it. I've been working at this for two years and now I can finally start school!

I found out my first Suicide Girl set goes public on March 8th! In the meantime, I'll be waiting patiently and promoting its debut when the date gets closer. I'm also hoping to shoot a new set in the next couple of months, after I get to a healthy weight and find a female photographer. I absolutely loved my photographer for my first set, but wouldn't mind making a set with a more feminine point-of-view.

I've been drawing a lot! I've mainly done a lot of requests from friends to draw them using one of their reference photos. You can find those drawings on my deviantArt. It's been such a big hit, that I think I'm ready to start opening up commissions! I haven't worked out pricing yet, but I know that they will be inexpensive. I also plan on drawing some other things and maybe selling prints. We'll see though. As of right now, I'm just finishing up some of my tattoo drafts. I'm hoping to get them tattooed onto me in the next couple of months!

Three weeks ago, I made the decision to become vegan. It was an easy decision after watching a few documentaries and getting proper information on it. I already avoided eating dairy and eggs, so why not go all the way? Since then, I've felt much better health-wise and have even lost 6 pounds without exercise! I've been finding recipes online and have support from my best friend (whom is vegan), my mom (whom agreed to try it with me), and many others. I plan on buying some cookbooks, soon, to help me keep up this healthy way of eating. Aaron is still an omnivore, but I have no problem with cooking him his type of food while I cook mine.

So that's what my past two months have been like. Now I'm back and hope to start writing again and more often! I hope you missed me!

Yet Another Temporary Hiatus

Hello, everyone!

I know I said I was finally coming back, and I was trying, but I still have too much on my plate right now. Luckily I have a little less, now that my SG photo shoot has come and gone, but I still have a lot of work to do on my school admissions portfolio. So until that's finished, I'll be on hiatus for a little while longer. Thank you for understanding! In the meantime, you can like my facebook page, follow my twitter or instagram, or add me on Suicide Girls to see my updates.

What's Cookin'? 10/23/12

Seafood Miso Soup
This was my first time making soup from scratch and all I can say is, it was so good! The whole process took about 45 minutes, but that was only because it was my first time trying it. I'm sure if I made it again, it would take 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I couldn't find bok choy in my grocery store, but red-leaf lettuce works perfectly. I didn't find regular miso paste, but it seems any easy miso powder will work. I also left out the mushrooms, as I'm not a fan. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. If your cooking for two people, making the recipe as directed will give you leftovers for two nights, so be prepared for that. This is the perfect soup for pescetarians during the colder seasons. It's definitely a must-try for anyone that likes seafood, though!

5 Things I'm Loving: 10/15/12 - 10/21/12

 1) Friday night out! My best friend Carley, Aaron, Carley's friends Lauren and Pauline, and I went to the Goretorium to check out the cannibals. It was so fun! I won't ruin anything, but I recommend going at least once. Since it will be open all year around, you won't miss it. Plus, they'll be changing it up every now and again, so it won't get stale! Later that night, we all walked around the strip a bit and eventually went to Kahunaville bar in TI. If you ever go there, I suggest drinking a mixed drink called "Vacation". It's peach schnapps, Malibu rum, and one other liquor (I don't recall which) mixed with cranberry juice and pineapple juice. It tastes really good and you can barely taste the alcohol! Which is a good and bad thing, as it could sneak up on you if you drink too many. Drink responsibly and know your limits! Anyways, it was a great night and I'm glad I was able to see my best friend while she was in town.

 2) Crocheting my butt off! I've been trying to finish my teal beret all week during work, but I'm only about half way done. I'm hoping to finish it by the end of the month, so I'm going to start crocheting on my days off as well. Wish me luck, as I need it for my school admissions portfolio!

What's Cookin'? 10/16/12

Lemon-Mint Chicken
When I came across this recipe, I thought it was intriguing. I had never thought of using mint on chicken, but it was really good! Instead of the watercress, I used spinach and made it into a real salad. The lemon-mint dressing didn't take long to make at all! The recipe calls for grilling the chicken, but seeing as I live in an apartment, I just fried it. I'm not a fan of frying chicken, as I'm bad at judging when it's cooked properly. If you're just like me, I highly recommend baking the chicken in the oven at 400 degrees F for 35 minutes. It cooks all the way through every time. This meal only took about 45 minutes tops, so it's a great dinner for people with little time.

5 Things I'm Loving: 10/1/12 - 10/14/12

 1) Drawing practice! I've been doing a lot of it for the past two weeks. Lots of school drawing, style practice, and even a few tattoos ideas for when I can get tattoo money again. I'm quite proud of them!

 2) Cooking! I'm finally getting back into cooking. It's been a long time since I've actually gone into it. In fact, I've made three new meals just this week! Which means I have some backlog for my "What's Cookin'?" posts. Yay!

(Anime conventions, pampering, and a day with Jaxy after the jump!)
