New Year, New Goals: 6 Months Later!

It's been nearly 6 months since I made my New Year's Goals, so I thought I would post a follow-up on what I've accomplished so far!

1) Practice drawing more often. - I have a little more, though I still need to work on this. I've been taking way too long of breaks in between projects! Go to my deviantArt page to see the drawings I've done.

2) Try different art forms. - Haven't gotten here yet, but I hope to by Fall!

3) Start selling my artwork and crafts if I get good enough. - I'm not quite here yet, I still need more practice.

4) Try cooking a new, advanced meal once a week. - So far, so good! See all the new foods I've made for "What's Cookin'?". :D

5) Start growing my own cooking herbs. - Haven't gotten here yet, but I want to start this in July or August. I hope to grow some flowers as well!

6) Start sewing again (need a new machine!). - Still need that new machine! Not to mention I need to make a list of clothes I want to make.

7) Go on more adventures / dates with Aaron. ♥ - We've only gone on 1 date since the new year, but we're still working on this!

8) Hang out with my friends more often. - I see friends at least every other week now! It's great to see them, but now I need to work on calling or texting the friends that I don't see regularly.

9) Expand my vintage camera collection to more than 1. - I still only have one, but I want to plan a day of antique store shopping with Jaxy soon. I can't wait to find more!

10) Blog more often! - So far, so good! I've blogged at least 3 times a week for a few months now, and it's all thanks to this blog planning post that Kaylah from the Dainty Squid (great blog btw, one of my favorites!) posted a couple of months back. It's been so helpful!

(More updates on my goals after the jump!)

11) Try to become a pescetarian. - I'm not quite a pescetarian, but I mainly eat fish and chicken (and the occasional burger). Now if I can only break my Whopper habit...

12) Let my nails grow. - I haven't bitten my nails in months! They have been so pretty since I first got acrylics, and I even resisted the urge to bite after I got the acrylics off a couple months back. I paint them every week and am afraid of biting them if I go without painting my nails, but hopefully I can get over that.

13) Put more effort into my looks on my days off (PJs are a bad habit). - I don't stay in my PJs all day during my days off anymore, but now I have a habit of wearing cute, oversized tanks with shorts! A cute habit, but a habit none the less. Maybe I'll get back into my style groove once it gets cool out again. In the meantime, I need to start remembering to wear make-up. lol

14) Get healthier by taking vitamins and exercising in some form. - I've been very bad at this. As of right now, I have forgotten to take my vitamins everyday for the past 2 weeks. Oops! I'm going to start setting an alarm on my phone as a reminder. I hope it works!

15) Get another tattoo. - My appointment is on July 11th! I'm very happy about this, as I'm going back to Willy Cutlip at Bad Apple Tattoo Co., the same guy that did my camera tattoo, last year. I'm still not going to give too much away, just that it's going to be a forearm piece. My first piece that will always be visible! :D

16) Save money for my more expensive necessities (new laptop, car, etc.). - I bought my laptop a couple of months back, but I still have a long ways to go for everything else. Good thing I always save some money anyways!

17) Sell the truck my dad gave me. - I sold it in April, a day after I had to tow it home! The money I got from the truck will be saved for a down payment on my next car. :)

18) Get a driver's license (can you believe I haven't done that yet?). - I had to renew my permit earlier this month, now I need to start practicing again. Unfortunately, I never have the time.

19) Buy a new car. - This will take a while, as in probably not until next year.

20) Finally start school! - This will take a while as well, about as long as it will take to buy a new car.

So all in all, I'm doing pretty well on my goals so far! I just need to pick up the pace a little bit if I want to get it all done. I'm so excited for finishing all of these in the near future!

How are you doing on your New Year's goals? :)

    1. Sounds like a good idea, it makes sense after all! lol

I forgot about that book! I'll have to get it in a few weeks.
We should definitely do that soon! Canvas, or we can try watercolors and watercolor paper. :D
I bought Basil the other day, it's living so far but needs more light!
We definitely need another hang out day soon, it's been too long. :(
Most definitely, we're due for some antique shopping fun!
I'm terribly forgetful of my vitamins, especially during my work week. And I wish you lived closer so we could exercise together!

  2. I need an exercise buddy... I need a buddy in general. I feel like I never seen anyone... which makes me feel like I don't have anyone. And this doesn't include you, we talk and are busy and hang out when we can... it's other people. Sigh.
